The indigenous son of Ebonyi states who has translated a physics textbook to igbo

A young Nigerian who’s name is Mazi Ogbonnaya okoro who hails from umuka in Okposi, ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi state, south eastern Nigeria  is said to have translated the physics textbook to the popular Nigerian language (igbo language). Ebonyi states indigene who translated a physics textbook to igbo stated that the book is ready for publication and to be released for circulation. 

 Biography :

Mazi Okoro started and completed his secondary school education at the award winning secondary school ‘Zenith international secondary school, Okposi and later proceeded to the university of Nigeria Nsukka where he acquired his bachelor’s degree in igbo language. 

The indigenous son of Ebonyi states who has translated a physics textbook to igbo, mazi Ogbonnaya Okoro has more than 15 years experience in teaching and researching Igbo language, literature, history and culture. He is a professional teacher of first language, second language and foreign language learners of Igbo.

Mazi Okoro studied Linguistics and Igbo Language at the University of Nigeria Nsụka and later  studied Translation and Movie Subtitle at Newcastle University and the University of the West of Scotland, United kingdom. He has since then written over 58 books in Igbo language. His Igbo books are versatile and adopted by the Ministries of  Education for all the secondary schools in almost  all the igbo speaking states of Nigeria,  such as Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Abịa and Delta. His books are also  approved for undergraduate, Master and PhD students of Igbo Literature in different universities and Colleges of Education across Igbo land.

Mazi Ogbonnaya Okoro, the Ebonyi states indigene who translated a physics textbook to igbo language was the first BBC Igbo translator. He has also translated works for various national and international organizations such as UNESCO and United Nations, in Igbo.

Ogbonnaya is so passionate about the Igbo language and its sustainability as well as preservations against extinction as predicted by the UNESCO.

Recently,  mazi Ogbonnaya Okoro revealed that his physics – igbo translation is at completion stage and will soon  be out for public consumption, he further stated his readiness to translate the rest of the science textbooks( biology, chemistry) to igbo language. This has since then generated lots of celebration and comment as it was said that his translation will make science more understandable. 

This has further buttressed the point that ebonyians are not half igbo as it has been in circulation over time now.
